Is it okay to not have a skincare routine?

That said, sometimes the skin needs support (or the brain needs a fun spa day). A few select products may suffice. In general, they should facilitate the skin's own functions instead of making it look smooth and shiny. My personal routine consists of cleansing myself with manuka honey, a prebiotic that feeds the microbiome, and applying a mineral sun protection factor to protect my skin from sun damage.

When I need to remove my sunscreen or makeup, I use natural jojoba oil, as it's a chemical similar to human sebum. Jojoba is also an excellent moisturizer when applied to damp skin, so I'll use it when my face feels particularly dry. Your routine may be different depending on your body's unique needs and any medical problems you need to address. And, of course, get your moles checked. After trying hundreds of different products, I found that my skin has never felt more irritated, blotchy, dull, dry, uneven and oily.

So, hoping to start from scratch, I eliminated most of the products, the “skin care steps”, and reduced them to a minimum. I wanted to eliminate everything I had been taught about skin care. When it comes to your skincare routine and the products you've selected, it's easy to get confused and wonder if they're really working for you or not. Everyone's skin is different, of course, and while some doctor-prescribed products can be a blessing for those who suffer from skin problems such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis, for most, a gigantic skincare regimen simply isn't that necessary.

For a long time I have felt that many of the skin care products (and many personal care products in general) that are advertised to us are not necessary. It's also great to spend time on activities where you don't need any products, such as hanging out with friends, spending time with family, watching Narcos or buy skincare items.
